Principal's message

Welcome to our school!

Educating and preparing young children to do well in a world that is rapidly changing requires a school community that works together to nurture and develop essential skills, knowledge and competencies for each child's active participation in today's world.

At Artarmon Public School, children, parents and teachers work collaboratively to create a safe and caring learning environment where every child is supported to reach their potential.

At Artarmon, we offer a broad and stimulating curriculum. Literacy and numeracy are our priorities. Our students have access to a wide range of specialist subjects including music, art, physical education, sport, library and information technology. All classrooms are well-equipped with computers and software to enhance student learning.

The school's enrolment is approximately 1100, and has grown significantly in recent years. At Artarmon, we pride ourselves on our attractive, stimulating environment, our high academic standards and our band and fitness programs.

Artarmon Public School has a strong and widely recognised opportunity class program. There are two classes, one Year 5 and one Year 6. Students for these classes are selected through the Department's selective schools unit.

Our students have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of enrichment activities including extensive swimming programs, camps and excursions, instrumental music, school choir, a production, sports activities, Maths Olympiad, and student leadership initiatives.

Artarmon Public School has developed strong links with the community.

The school has a very active and supportive parents and citizens' association. Members of our school community are extremely active in classrooms, committee initiatives and in garden projects.

Our skilled and dedicated teachers work in professional teams to design exciting, challenging and innovative learning experiences to reach children who learn in different ways and rates, as they become responsible for themselves and each other.

Our school community respects individual differences and celebrates diversity. Artarmon Public School is more than a school; it is a learning community where we can all participate in the learning aspirations of young children. We encourage families to be actively involved in the education of their children as we strive to develop life long learners who are equipped with academic, thinking and personal skills for the future.
