Bronte School Assistance Dog
Bronte is a purebred Golden Retriever who is Artarmon Public School’s wellbeing assistance dog.
Her presence aims to reduce stress and encourage socialisation, leading to improved emotional wellbeing for staff and students alike.

Purpose
The purpose of a therapy dog at school is to provide a low threat intermediary between students and staff.
Students are more inclined to relax and trust a conversation when Bronte is included. Bronte does not judge or have an agenda; this leads to increased student engagement through emotional support.
Bronte provides overt as well as intangible learning experiences. Many families in our community do not own a pet so students can learn first hand basic pet care. On a deeper level, students learn to consider others, which leads to developing compassion.
